Conclusion of Kibungo Hospital Water Project – Rwanda

This project has been completed under the technical direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Anna Montgomery.

The project was to bring water to the pediatric ward of the hospital by installing a sink and connecting it to the existing external water source.

Anna reports:

The Kibungo pediatric ward sink is now in and functioning.

Hospital maintenance man Steven Munyambo was invaluable during the process! From planning and purchasing to installation, and even providing sink operating instruction, he made this project possible.

In less than two weeks an amazing transformation has taken place in the pediatric ward. Of course hands are being washed, but the true change is the smiles that accompany the act. And the nurses are so grateful.

Anna further reported:

Here’s a little some of what I’ve heard: “This is wonderful.” “It’ so easy.” “It works!”, but most of all two little words that have been repeated over and over again, “Thank you!”

And I want to say that too. Thank you so much for your support. This was a wonderful project and a great experience.

We are grateful to The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funding for this successful project.
