The project was designed to drill a well in Chinyata.
Nate reports:
Mano a Mano’s water well in Chinyata, Bolivia – with the support of Water Charity – is now complete. I was there in mid-June as our staff was finishing the well, and the community leaders and I were able to watch a large amount of water flowing from the well.
The well is 102 meters deep, with water flowing at 5 liters per second. There is enough differential pressure that a pump is not needed to provide water. The community is now installing 2 truckloads of piping to channel the water.
Once the community saw the amount of water, they all wanted to participate; twice as many people are participating in the project as expected. (There usually is some reluctance by the community initially, because they have experienced so many disappointments with projects like these not working well with other groups before.)
Thanks to Water Charity for supporting this project.
We extend our gratitude to Joan and Nate for completing this important project.
