The project was to build a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and washing facilities.

Stuart reports:

It is with great pleasure that I report that our outstanding water project with the Izmail social center for children with disabilities (Al-Nur) has been completed!

Whereas it took us far longer than expected, Al-Nur now has a new bathroom with a tub, sink, toilet, radiator, and washing machine. New, colorful tile was also installed as promised on the floor and walls to complete the transformation.

All stakeholders, including Al-Nur’s founder, director and funders, the Izmail Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, and beneficiaries are thrilled with the outcome and look forward to the improvement in services.

I want to thank you for your trust and flexibility in allowing us to complete the project over a much longer time period than originally anticipated. The purchase of the new tub, sink, toilet, and accessories was made while I was still in Ukraine, but due to additional expenses to prepare the building for installation, the project was put on hold.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Center’s founder, the necessary repairs and improvements were made and the project’s objective of creating a new wash facility for children was fulfilled.

The full success of this endeavor goes to Valentina Stoykova, Larissa Todorova, Elena Lange, and the wonderful team of supporters at Al-Nur. This is yet another example of the hard-working and innovative qualities of those I worked with while in Ukraine, and I couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishment.

We are grateful to Stuart for completing this project despite the adversity, and again extend our thanks to those who donated to date.
