This project has been completed. This was a follow-up to the Kazingo, Kiguma and Karangura Water Project – Uganda completed earlier this year.

A summary of the report of Tiffany Tai is as follows:
Three tanks of the high-quality Gentex brand with a capacity of 5,000 liters each were procured, and the bases constructed and painted for the 3 schools in Kamabaale, Kazingo, and Kakindo. The areas in which the storage systems were built had long been faced with water shortages, where children had to travel long distances to avail themselves of water.
Twerwaneho Orphans Community Initiative (TOCI) implemented the project in hard-to-reach areas in Bukuuku and the Karangura sub-counties in Kabarole district at Kamabaale Primary School, Kazingo Primary School, and the Kakindo Seventh Day Adventist Church School.
The tanks were handed over to their respective communities to support over 1,500 school-going children and 1,200 community members, as well as the caregivers of vulnerable children.
The long-lasting water shortage problem in these school areas has, to a large extent, been resolved through the WAHARA project water tanks. TOCI is grateful for the support of Water Charity in these interventions.
