This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer William Leborgne. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.
The project was to build a cement-lined, capped well at the health center.
William completed his Peace Corps service before the well was completed. However, he kept in touch with people in the community, and is finally able to relate to us the success of the project.
William reports:
According to Pauline Sene, Head Nurse at the Karang Health Post, the well was completed in May, 2013, and, as of February, 2015, it is still functioning.
It is being utilized not only by the health post but also the nearby market when their water source runs out.
We are grateful to William for implementing the project and seeing it through to completion. William is currently serving on the Board of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Los Angeles.
We again extend our thanks to the Elmo Foundation for providing the funding.
