This project, designed to bring water to and renovate the bathroom at the Tarazh Elementary School has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Jonathan Ayres.

Jonathan reports:
The process, which resulted in a renovated bathroom with running water, was deemed a success among the many community members of Tarazh and Rreshen.
The scope of our project was to renovate the entire outdoor bathroom facility and install piping for running water. With the help of the local mayor, school director, and the construction workers of the municipality, this project included replacing 4 damaged toilets, installing 6 bathroom doors (2 exterior and 4 interior), repairing and securing the roof, cementing and tiling the floors, installing 2 sinks with running water, and finally replacing 2 broken windows.
The entire renovation portion of the project was completed within 2 months, before the school year started. The project stayed under budget and was a major success to the school and community of Tarazh. Both the teachers and students were very appreciative of the hard work that went into this project.
After the completion of the project, school director of Tarazh, Gjin Mandreja stated, “I would like to thank Peace Corps and the Water Charity organization for helping our community and school with the bathroom renovations. The students, teachers, and community members appreciate these organizations, which have helped create a better school in Tarazh.”
