This project has been successfully completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Noelle Neel. To see the history of the project CLICK HERE.
The project was to build a handwashing station at the Nong Sua School.
Noelle reports:
The school had a water source in the kitchen so they did not have to install new pipes. Using the original water line they were able to put in 6 new sinks. They hired a local handyman that was able to do all the installation along with the tile work. The sink looks amazing; they did such a nice job.
Noelle reports on how the project was received:
The day that it was completed I went to take some pictures with the principal. He was so excited, and you could tell that the children were too. Before eating they lined up and washed their hands. This is something they had never done before. This will improve the health and hygiene of the students and hopefully, they will get into the habit of washing their hands before eating and will continue to do it when they are away from school.
We again wish to thank The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funds for this project.
