The project was to build a rainwater catchment system at the Subira Dispensary.
Marissa reports:
The Subira Dispensary Rainwater Catchment Project has been successfully completed.
In the first 3 days of labor, the contracted masons constructed a round stand for the water tank. They created a foundation to support the brick and cement stand, using bricks donated by the community.
Upon completion, the stand was coated with a cement layer for additional support. In the following days, the masons built a rainwater catchment system lining the four interior eaves of the dispensary’s courtyard.
A 2,000-liter tank was purchased, transported to the site, and installed on the stand. The gutters were connected to the tank by piping.
Providing access to clean water throughout the dry season to the Subira Dispensary, this project impacts over 9,500 community members of Subira and outlying areas.
The community of Subira, health dispensary staff, government officials, and the district medical office all send their messages of gratitude to all those who supported this project.
