This project has been completed under the technical direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Shannon Cagney. To read about the beginning of this project, CLICK HERE.

This project was to provide a water supply to the village school cafeteria for use by the students, teachers, and technical staff.

A pump was installed, piping was run, and sinks were installed and connected.

Shannon reports:

After the indoor plumbing was installed, I worked with some students to paint the walls of the room.

We held seminars for teachers, teachers and parents on what good hygiene means and what it looks like.

The service women who clean the school no longer have to walk out to the well to retrieve water. They have all expressed great gratitude.

We are grateful to The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funding for this successful project.
