Conclusion of Kula Borehole Repair Project – Malawi

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Judy Summers. To read about the beginning of this project, CLICK HERE.

This project was to repair a borehole, on the grounds of the Kula Village Primary School, that has not been functioning for two years. The repairs are now done and water is flowing again.

Judy reports on how the project went:

What a fun day it was. Several village headmen turned out to supervise and about 20 young men to do the work. The technician, Thomas, from the district water office was amazing in how he could take what tools they had and make it work. Never have seen heating PCV pipe over a fire to create a way to slip one inside the other.

We again wish to thank Katherine E. Sisson and Norma Scott for providing the funds for this project.
