This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Danielle Stoermer. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to build 4 latrines at L’Ecole Primaire de Kayemor.

Danielle reports:

I am happy to inform you that the latrine project at the elementary school in Kayemor, Senegal has been successfully completed! The project was started on December 9, 2010, and it was completed on December 19, 2010.

The principal of the school oversaw the whole process and monitored the construction very closely to make sure the builders were honest.

The students, teachers, and community at large are very happy with the newest addition to their school.

The additional latrines that the community funded were finished by the time the school re-opened on January 3 after the “winter” break.

A small opening ceremony is planned for all four of the new latrines.

We again wish to thank The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funds for this project.
