The project was to provide a reverse osmosis water filtration system and dispenser in the orphanage kitchen.
Abby reports:
The scope of Hope Children’s Center Water Project was to provide a reverse osmosis water filtration system and dispenser for an orphanage and rehabilitation center serving up to 25 orphans and 20 staff.
The filter was ordered at the beginning of the month and on April 19 the orphanage director and I went to pick it up and purchase it through a local community vendor. We inspected it fully and got it delivered to the orphanage on the same day. The following week, the vendor sent in a worker to install the filtration system into the water system.
The filter/dispenser is now fully functional in the orphanage kitchen where all of the children and staff have access to clean, safe drinking water. Small plastic glasses sit near the dispenser to make it possible for even the smallest children to get a drink when they need one.
Timur (age 4) was amazed at the machine and how clear water came out of it. 3-year-old Anya commented that the water tasted sweet. Two of the older orphans Nadia and Galya sent their thanks and expressed how tasty the water was when all of the contaminants were filtered out.
The orphanage director wants to extend his biggest thanks to you for making this much needed project happen. There is so much to worry about when caring for orphans, but clean drinking water should not have to be one of them.
