The project was to create a method of bringing water to the school and storing it for use in the school’s kitchen and to build three handwashing stations to make water available for drinking and personal hygiene.

6 July: All of the materials were purchased in Talas City and transported to Kirk Kazik, where the project was completed.
Instead of three fifteen-liter containers, we purchased two thirty-liters containers. This was more cost-efficient and allows us to store more water.
The water containers required no construction and were stored in the school kitchen. The materials for the sink were stored in the school’s entry hall until construction began.
7 – 10 July: Two men from Kirk Kazik, who were hired to build the sinks for our school, prepared the space and materials for construction. No materials were wrong or missing as the builders helped in the purchasing.
25 July: The sink project was completed! Pictures were taken every three days to monitor the progress.
I have yet to talk with the students, but the kitchen and general staff members have approached me with comments that translate to:
“Thank you for the beautiful sinks!”
“The students will be happy. Our cafeteria looks much better.”
“Now that we can store more water, tea time will be easier with fewer trips to the pump. Thank you!”
We all thank you so much for giving my town the opportunity to contribute clean water to the school.
