Conclusion of Wang Mai Dang Health Center Bathroom Project – Thailand

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Dominique Luong. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to renovate the bathrooms at the health center to provide for the hygiene and sanitation needs of the patients.

Dominique reports:

The bathroom renovation project at the Wang Mai Dang Health Center was a success. The bathroom renovations were completed by the local bathroom contractor in the community, along with local workmen.

The squatting toilet and broken sink in the first bathroom were replaced by a sitting toilet and a working sink.

The second bathroom was completely renovated to accommodate the needs of the elderly and disabled patients. Renovations included complete hand rails surrounding the toilet to provide support when needed, a new flush toilet, a new sink and a new ramp at the entrance.

The community members, health center workers, and the patients are very happy with the bathroom renovations. This bathroom renovation project will benefit the thousands of people who visit the center each year.

The health center workers, patients, community members, and I would like to thank you for your generosity.

We extend our gratitude to Dominique for completing the project and to Yennhi Luu for providing the funds.
