Conclusion of Soup Kitchen "Concordia" Sanitation Project – Moldova

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Zachariah J. Falconer-Stout. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to improve the sanitation at the soup kitchen, including the installation of 2 showers, a sink, a toilet, and a washing machine.

Zachariah reports:

The construction was completed according to plan.

Renovation work at the soup kitchen included the installation of 2 showers (male and female), a sink, a toilet, and a washing machine.

A large amount was accomplished by coordinating this project with a USAID SPA Grant, plus a significant community contribution.

The construction specialist donated a great deal of extra time, care, and materials, beyond what was contractually expected.

In addition to the improvements to the facility, capacity was increased among the core project team, ensuring sustainability. The primary beneficiary was the kitchen coordinator and project team leader, Ecaterina Prisac.
The improvements have added greatly to the sanitation of the soup kitchen and the opportunities for proper hygiene available for those who benefit from the services.

We are grateful to Zachariah for completing this project.
