This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Emily Watson.

The project was to repair the piping system that supplies water to the restroom and storage area of the organization.

Emily reports:

The project has been completed.  Project funds were used for the purchase of the materials needed to replace the disintegrating system, and for payment to local skilled technicians.

Miscellaneous supplies, a fan for better ventilation, paint, and labor for cosmetic repairs were donated by the organization.

As a result of the project, 25-30 community members who regularly use this space will benefit directly from the repairs. The absence of leaks, which were causing water damage in walls and ceilings, and the installation of a better ventilation system, means better air quality for all visitors to the office and organization (which is located in a basement).

This project has created safer and more sanitary conditions at the facility, allowing visitors and clientele to feel more comfortable at the office. The organization is hoping to collaborate with apartment owners in the building to address the need for any future repairs.

Water Charity has been a wonderful resource to many Peace Corps Volunteers. Thank you so much for your support!

We wish to thank Emily for completing this project, and again extend our gratitude to The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funding.
