Conclusion of Senkiv School Water Project – Ukraine

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Brooks Harrison. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to renovate the piping system at the school, and restore functionality to 4 toilets and 8 sinks.

Brooks reports:

The project has been completed. The entire plumbing system was replaced and 2 new toilets were installed.

Students and staff now enjoy constant access to clean and potable drinking water.

The materials were purchased from a local contractor at a discounted rate, allowing Water Charity funds to cover the full cost of the improvement.

The work was carried out by the school maintenance staff and the volunteer. Custodians provide constant upkeep to ensure the longevity of the new facilities.

As a result of the project, 100 students, teachers, and support staff now have access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning as well as proper facilities for sanitation and hygiene.

We are grateful to Brooks for completing the project and to The Soneva SLOW LIFE Trust for providing the funding.
