This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Julie Dunn.

The project was to repair the pump at Pakali Ba Basic Cycle School.

Julie reports:

Our water pump is now complete. With the labor provided by technicians in neighboring villages and the free use of our village tractor, we were able to replace the concrete slab as well as replace a rusted pipe necessary to draw up the water for the school garden.

In the many months it took to replace the concrete slab and broken pipe within the pump, we were not able to maintain a school garden, a must in our school’s nutrition program. We have now returned to gardening and begun work on our tree nursery.

Thank you for your contribution.

We are grateful to Julie for completing the project and again express our gratitude to Tim Cynova and Julie’s other friends and family for providing the funding.
