Conclusion of Mulindi Health Center Latrine Project – Rwanda

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Devin Johnson. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to build new pit latrines at the health center.

Devin reports:

The project took longer than expected to complete. To finish the project it became necessary to appeal for funding from one of our parent organizations, a process which waylaid the project slightly. Nonetheless, the delay only lasted a few weeks beyond the deadline.

The project was necessary for the health center to function normally, and the clients are now using the new facilities with ease. The construction process encountered no hindrances.

The latrines are placed in a convenient area slightly below the level of the rest of the center, on the side of a hill.

Devin reports on how the project was received:

The titulaire of the health center NTABAHWANYIMANA Jean Marie Vianney would like to sincerely thank Water Charity for their extremely generous contribution to the Mulindi Health Center. Your contribution to the sanitation of the health center will not be forgotten.

We again wish to thank the friends and family of Devin for providing the funding for this project.
