Conclusion of Khol Khol Health Hut Water Project – Senegal

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Margaret Davidson. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to build a water tap at the village health hut.

Margaret reports:

I want to inform you that the Khol Khol Health Hut Water Project is finished. I completed the installation of a water tap at the Case de Sante with the assistance of Assane Niang, President of the Khol Khol Committee de Sante, and the Linguere-based water and hydraulics board.

Assane and I went into Linguere to purchase all of the necessary materials to build the robinet (tap), and arranged for the transport back to the village. Materials included 65 meters of pipe and all needed fittings and fixtures.

The community performed the unskilled labor of digging the trench and covering it.

The hydraulic team from Linguere completed the work in 10 days, tapping into the water line and running the piping from the water supply to the health post.

The community made up the financial shortfall.

We are grateful to Margaret for completing this important project.
