Conclusion of Keur Serigne Thioye Water Project – Senegal

This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Jacqueline Gerson. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to extend the pipelines from an existing tap to a community garden located just outside of the village.

Jacqueline reports:

The project has been completed. During 2 workdays, the men of Keur Serigne Thioye dug 45 meters to extend a pipeline. It was hard work, but finally, all the digging was finished. There was even some time to take a break, roast some peanuts, and make tea.

When the pipeline was installed and water gushed out of it, all the men cheered and were very proud of their hard work. Now all the women are excitedly talking about the community garden we will be able to build in the field to improve nutrition and income in the village.

The community is very grateful for the support. They know that they would not have been able to complete this project without you.

We wish to thank Jacqueline for completing the project, and again thank her friends and family for providing the funding.
