Conclusion of Ker Ngornyan Pump Repair Project – The Gambia

This project was completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Suzanne Brewer. To read about the beginning of the project, CLICK HERE.

The project was to repair the pump of the main well in Ker Ngornyan by repairing the broken parts.

Suzanne reports:

The repairs to the pump in Ker Ngornyan were completed.

Several men of the village were on hand to help as lifting the meters and meters of pipe takes at least four persons. A new valve was fitted to the piston.

The work was easily done in just a couple of hours in the evening. When the work was done I got a hug from one of the women in the village. That is a rare event here and I took it as an expression of thanks.

Every time I go to Ker Kgornyan now I am greeted by someone who thanks me for helping to repair the pump.

We extend our thanks to Suzanne for completing this project, and again wish to thank Adam Brewer for providing the funding.
