The project was to build a set of latrines at the school.
Thomas reports:
I am happy to say that the latrine has been finished.
The new latrine structure is made of brick and covered with stucco. It has a tin roof and tin doors, and features two porcelain Eastern-style toilets.
I worked with two counterparts on the project. One was the director of the CEM and the other is a well-respected political village member.
We had meetings to determine the logistics of where the latrine could best be placed at the school, choosing the mason, and working with the estimates of the mason. We communicated regularly with each other throughout the process.
The school director played the biggest role in the project. He traveled to buy supplies, secured a place for the fabrication of the bricks, worked with me on the finances, and worked with the mason to ensure that the project proceeded according to plan.
Thanks so much for the opportunity to build this latrine. My community could not be happier and are planning on writing a letter of gratitude.
