This project has been completed under the direction of Peace Corps Volunteer Greg Patterson.

The project was to implement a number of simple steps to improve the sanitation of the school.

Greg reports:

I am pleased to report that the project has been completed. The plan was initially for 5 or 6 people to complete in 5 or 6 days. Fifty village volunteers showed up and completed all phases of the project in a single day.

We are now awaiting the rains to come to test our work. The teachers at the school were so pleased that we helped them with their problem.

This project inspired community involvement that I have never seen before. The work we completed that day and the spirit of the village volunteers made that day the most gratifying day of my service.

Thank you Water Charity!

We, in turn extend our thanks to Greg for completing the project, and to the Elmo Foundation for providing the funding. This was a good example of the fact that a project does not need to be complicated to be extremely effective.
